TapAndGo ("we", "us", "our") operates a ride-hailing platform that connects passengers with drivers in Zimbabwe. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the TapAndGo mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our Services immediately.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: GPS coordinates, route information, pick-up and drop-off locations collected during active rides and when the app is in use.

- Usage Data: App interaction patterns, ride history, search queries, session durations, feature usage.
- Performance Data: Crash reports, error logs, and diagnostic information to improve app stability.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Background check results for driver verification (where applicable).
- Payment processing data from integrated payment providers (EcoCash, Innbucks).
- Map and routing data from mapping service providers.
3 How We Use Your Information
- Providing Services: Matching riders with drivers, processing rides, calculating fares, processing payments, and providing navigation.
- Safety & Security: Verifying identities, detecting fraud, monitoring for safety incidents, emergency response, and enforcing our policies.
- Communication: Sending ride confirmations, receipts, service updates, promotional offers (with your consent), and responding to support requests.
- Improvement: Analysing usage patterns, optimising routes, improving algorithms, developing new features, and conducting research.
- Legal Compliance: Meeting legal obligations, responding to law enforcement requests, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.
4 Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Other Users: Riders see driver name, photo, vehicle details, and real-time location. Drivers see rider name, pick-up/drop-off locations, and contact number.
- Service Providers: Payment processors, cloud hosting providers, mapping services, analytics providers, and customer support tools.
- Business Partners: Corporate ride programme administrators (limited to ride data relevant to the corporate account).
- Legal Authorities: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of TapAndGo and its users.
Your Consent Matters
We will always seek your explicit consent before sharing data beyond what is described in this policy.
5 Data Retention & Security
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal, business, and audit purposes. Ride data is retained for a minimum of 3 years.

8 Children's Privacy
TapAndGo Services are not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. The SchoolRun feature is managed by parents/guardians who are registered TapAndGo users, and all child data is controlled through the parent's account.
1 Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the TapAndGo application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TapAndGo (Pvt) Ltd, a company registered in Zimbabwe.
If you are using the Services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2 Description of Services
TapAndGo provides a technology platform that connects passengers seeking transportation with independent drivers. We are a technology intermediary and do not provide transportation services directly. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees of TapAndGo.
Services include:
- On-demand ride-hailing and booking.
- Scheduled ride booking in advance.
- SchoolRun service for school commutes.
- Parcel delivery services.
- Corporate ride management.
- Digital payment processing.
- Loyalty points programme.
3 Account Registration
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- One person may maintain only one active account.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
4 Fares, Payments & Cancellations
4.1 Fare Calculation
Fares are calculated based on distance, duration, vehicle category, and applicable surge pricing. An estimated fare is displayed before you confirm a ride. The final fare may differ from the estimate based on the actual route taken, traffic conditions, and waiting time.
4.2 Payment Methods
TapAndGo supports the following payment methods:
- Cash payment to driver.
- EcoCash mobile money.
- InnBucks digital wallet.
- TapAndGo loyalty points (partial or full).
- Corporate billing (for approved corporate accounts).
4.3 Cancellation Policy
You may cancel a ride at any time before the driver arrives at the pick-up point at no charge. Cancellations after the driver has arrived or is en route may incur a cancellation fee. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in account restrictions.
5 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- TapAndGo is not liable for the actions, conduct, or negligence of drivers or passengers.
- TapAndGo does not guarantee the availability, timeliness, or quality of rides.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from the Services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific ride giving rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- We are not responsible for items left in vehicles, although we will make reasonable efforts to assist in recovery.
6 Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be resolved as follows:
- Informal Resolution: Contact our support team first. We will attempt to resolve the issue within 14 business days.
- Mediation: If informal resolution fails, either party may request mediation through a mutually agreed mediator.
- Arbitration: Unresolved disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Harare, Zimbabwe, in accordance with Zimbabwean law.
7 Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, safety concerns, or any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting support.
Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, dispute resolution, and intellectual property) shall remain in effect.
8 Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
1 General Conduct
All users of TapAndGo must adhere to the following standards of conduct:
- Treat all users, drivers, passengers, and TapAndGo staff with respect and courtesy.
- Do not engage in discriminatory behaviour based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Do not use the platform for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate illegal activities.
- Do not engage in harassment, threats, intimidation, or abusive language.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations of Zimbabwe.
2 Passenger Regulations
- Be at the designated pick-up location when the driver arrives.
- Wear seatbelts at all times during the ride.
- Do not request drivers to exceed speed limits or violate traffic laws.
- Do not smoke, consume alcohol, or use illegal substances in the vehicle.
- Keep the vehicle clean. Excessive soiling may result in a cleaning fee.
- Do not bring hazardous materials, weapons, or illegal items into the vehicle.
- Maximum passenger count must not exceed the vehicle's rated capacity.
- Supervise all minors travelling under your account.
- Provide accurate pick-up and drop-off locations.
Cleaning Fee Policy
If a vehicle requires professional cleaning due to passenger actions (vomiting, spills, excessive dirt), a cleaning fee of up to $50 USD may be charged to your account.
3 Driver Regulations
- Maintain a valid Zimbabwean driver's licence at all times.
- Keep vehicle registration, insurance, and permits current and valid.
- Maintain the vehicle in safe, clean, and roadworthy condition.
- Do not use the platform while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Follow the route recommended by the app unless the passenger requests otherwise.
- Do not solicit tips, request off-platform payments, or negotiate fares outside the app.
- Do not discriminate against passengers or refuse rides based on destination.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour at all times.
- Report all safety incidents and accidents immediately through the app.
- Do not carry unauthorised passengers while on an active ride.
- Comply with all OTP verification requirements for SchoolRun rides.
4 Rating System
TapAndGo operates a mutual rating system to maintain service quality:
- Both passengers and drivers rate each other after each completed ride on a 1-5 scale.
- Ratings are anonymous and cannot be changed after submission.
- Consistently low ratings (below 4.0) may result in warnings or account restrictions.
- Fraudulent or retaliatory ratings are prohibited and may result in account suspension.
Fair Rating Guidelines
Rate based on the ride experience only. Do not rate poorly because of factors outside the other person's control, such as traffic or weather conditions.
5 Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban:
- Creating fake accounts or using another person's account.
- Manipulating the app, GPS data, or fare calculations.
- Requesting or completing fraudulent rides.
- Using the platform to transport illegal goods or substances.
- Attempting to reverse engineer, hack, or exploit the platform.
- Sharing or selling account credentials.
- Physical violence, sexual harassment, or assault.
- Recording passengers or drivers without explicit consent.
- Soliciting personal contact information for non-ride purposes.
- Abusing the loyalty points system through fraudulent activities.

1 Ownership
All intellectual property rights in and to the TapAndGo platform, including but not limited to the software, design, logos, trademarks, trade names, service marks, and content, are the exclusive property of TapAndGo (Pvt) Ltd or its licensors.
The TapAndGo name, logo, and all related product and service names, design marks, and slogans are registered or unregistered trademarks of TapAndGo (Pvt) Ltd.
2 Licence to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to:
- Download and install the TapAndGo app on your personal mobile device.
- Access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes.
This licence does not include the right to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the app or any part thereof.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices.
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the platform.
- Create derivative works based on the Services.
3 User-Generated Content
By submitting content to TapAndGo (reviews, ratings, feedback, profile photos), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content in connection with operating and promoting the Services.
You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit, and that it does not violate any third party's rights.

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please contact our legal team at legal@tapandgo.co.zw with:
- A description of the copyrighted work.
- The location of the infringing material on our platform.

2 Governing Law
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and all User Regulations are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Any legal proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Zimbabwe.
3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
4 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and User Regulations, constitute the entire agreement between you and TapAndGo regarding the use of the Services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
